Before I thought ew ds looks like for old people but I guess im getting older and my taste has changed hahahaha.  This is a pretty micro glitter with holographic nail polish. .. What do you guys think of this color? Do you own it..

OPI- Melon of Troy swatch

Hey Ladies! Im a little behind of posting but better late than never.
Today I got a swatch of OPI melon of troy.  I first heard of this color from Blair Fowler a while back and placed an order on it right away.  When I got it I was a little disappointed in the color.  As you can see the color feels soo " old lady" to me.. its orangey/ peach with sheen or however you call it.  When I had this on my toes for the first time my mom said  to me  " Why do you have such an old lady color on?" AHAHAHAH so I knew I wasn't the only one.  The application was good.. this took me 2 coats to get the same color as the bottle.

I hope you guys enjoy the swatch!

Essie- Absolutely Shore with Polka Dots

Hey Ladies!

This is Essie Absolutely Shore with Sally Hansen Pacific Blue polka dots on top.  This will be my third attempt at making pokla dots.. I must say its a lot harder than it looks. I cant seem to get the spacing correct and all the same size dots sighh.....  Why something that look so simple be so hard to accomplish LOL.. Do you guys have any tips for me on making the polka dots even so it looks like a professional did it? LOL

This will be a short blog because theres nothing do this really .. just a dotting tool or a bobby pin end would work for polka dots too.

I hope you guys enjoy!!

Essie- Absolutely Shore swatch

This is taken in the sunlight

Hey Ladies! For today I got a swatch of Essie Absolutely shore from their latest Braziliant collection.  I would describe this color more of a sea foam green color than a minty green color. It is a lot lighter than a minty green from China glaze re-fresh mint.  The formula is a bit streaky on the first coat but by the second coat it was fully opaque. The consistency was not bad, it was not too thick nor was it thin, I think it was perfect in consistency.  I really do like this color! Surprisingly how light this color was, I did not think it would look good on my yellowish skin but it did.

This was taken in the sunlight.
I think this is very close to the color.
                                                                    Second coat

Dandelions nails

Hey Ladies!  This particular nail designs been really popular round the beauty blog communities.  There is a lot of recreation out there and this is mine. Actually its the same no recreation here HAHA!  Ive seen others use different color for the background which was really clever.. why didn't I think of that?

Anyway, who would of thought a weed would be so popular to wear on the nails.. I love this look because it was easy to recreate and its very simple looking.

The original person did this a lot better so if you guys want to copy you guys can click the link below.

First gradient nails

Hey Ladies! This is my first time attempting  gradient nails. I think the blending and the color choices are importing in achieving this look.  I really like this look and believe the color combinations are very spring/ summer.  I wanted to added something to give this nail a little more dimension so I added flowers from a stamping plate. Given this is my first time trying this, my blending was not that good =]

Stuff I used to get this look :

In the photos are the order I applied the color --
  • China glaze- St tropez
  • China glaze- For Audrey
  • Essie - Coat Azure
  • China Glaze-Spontaneous

I used a make up sponge to applied the colors. using the sponge makes it easier to blend because it applies the color a lot more sheer than just painting it on with the brush.

Next I used BundleMonster (Amazon.com)  imagine plate with the  " daisy" floweron it from BM 16 plate

Then I applied any glitter topcoat and then  used Yellow acrylic paint to put in the middle of the flowers
After everything was dry, I applied Out the Door top coat and VOILA!

I hope you enjoy and thanks for reading =]

NOTM: Essie Nice is Nice with Teenage Dream

Hey guys! This will be my first Blog and post of 2011! Basically I will be posting nail art or nail polish swatches.  I hope you guys enjoy my posts =]!

Earlier today, I had this on my nail but I took it off because I came up with a bright idea by adding something to it and totally messing it up.. Boo me!

Anyway back to the color.. What I have on as a base coat is Essie Nice is Nice, I applied two coats of that and one coat of OPI Teenage dream on top. I really do like how it turned out. Doesn't look like it could be an OPI DS nail polish color?! I think so!!  Let me know what you guys think of this combination! I got this idea from a blogger  whos link is below:

http://madmanis.blogspot.com/2011/06/subtlefor-me.html

Shes super creative and really good, so good that I redid two of her nail designs! Will post the other one up soon!

This is what I added on after and did not like so I took it off =[
What I used:
Konad Stamp M 57
Acrylic Paint in assorted colors to fill in the circles.

Later you guys will see I am not original HAHAHA! I love dupes and recreating nail designs, just  a heads up!

Love,
 Amanda N
